Well Spring has come and gone. We waited for the marlin in anticipation. However we were disappointed to see the numbers did not give us the season we all wish for. What we lacked in numbers , the size definitely made up for it.
However the usual crew helped us through. Macktuna as always present, even if they were at times a test to hook. Some solid longtails were also boated. One of real note, landed whilst we were jigging.
What truly saved us was the deep jigging and plastics. Some big fish boated. Big goldens and a couple of mega cobes. Young Jacob Maiolo claiming an ANSA record for a 116cm golden trevally.
