Let Mark "Bargy" Bargenquast Guide you onto that fish of a Lifetime!
A very experienced local with over 30 years fishing experience on the Fraser Coast. Born and bred in Maryborough he grew up only 20km from Hervey Bay and has spent literally thousands of hours exploring the local waters.
Mark has fished every angle on the Fraser Coast. From the head waters of the Mary River catching the endagered Mary River Cod, to linefishing 30 pound Red Emperor 40km east of Fraser Island on the continental shelf.
His real interest is in the pursuit of fish on fly and lure, and he targets everything from small Black Marlin near the tip of Fraser, to salt and fresh water Barramundi, Bass, Bream, Threadfin Salmon, Longtail Tuna, the list is absolutely endless.
Fising the Fraser Coast region with Mark, you will sample the overlap of Northern and Southern species and with his extensive local knowledge, it gives the travelling angler the absolute maximum opportunity to land that trophy fish. Add to this the variety of scenarios and locations that give you fishing options for all but the most severe weather conditions.
BOAT -
After fishing from the 530 polycraft for the past year I decided to upgrade to a faster, more comfortable boat. After plenty of testing I finally decided on a galeforce 5.5 centre console powered by a 115 suzuki fourstroke.
This is the first picture of the new rig anchored in Wathumba Creek on the western side of fraser Island. The boat is equipped with the latest Lowrance HDS sonar and GPS units and a marine stereo for the long run home.
